march. currently.

march, where have you been? it’s like i blinked and here we are. too much to do.

visiting london.

working on a lot of things for the hair salon opening from my sister in 3 weeks – designing all paper things and the promotion articles.

planing the actual opening event.

making cakepops for the first time (and losing my temper more than once).

planing on starting my own business and i’m so excited about it. more details soon but mainly it’s about creative workshops and commissional work.

designing my own corporate identity.

enjoying the amazing spring weather.

reading the german flow magazine.

missing my time with my project life album. soon i will be back, i swear.

eating a lot self-made date-leek-spread (so so good).

project life #4

this was february 14 – 21, 2014.

what happened? i finally got my amy tangerine plus one mini kit. perfect addition to the project life sunshine edition. i got a new loop scarf from my valentine. we went to the cinema – twice (american hustle & monuments men). spring is officially here.

the journal card with the pink signs is from the plus one mini kit.

this spread is light on embellishments – simply because i thought the bright pink is enough. the pink filler card is from the project life sunshine edition.

i also ordered the amy tangerine plus one 6×6 paper pad and i was a little bit confused why they included the journal cards from the 12×12  paper also in the 6×6 pad as a resized version. they are so tiny, too tiny in my opinion. at least i found one tiny “4×6”-card that fitted my color scheme for this spread.

the xoxo-filler card is a freebie made by me – you can download it here.

i found that quote from alice in wonderland in the german flow magazine and definitely had to include it. it’s typed on a black and white freebie card made by tracyxo – you can find the download here.

five on friday

1. i love all the sweet words and illustrations you can find on pinterest.

2. the lawn fawn 2014 releases arrive slowly here in austria. i placed a preorder on a few items because i want to create the opening invitations for my sister’s hair salon. they should be in the mail next week. i’m so excited. will share the finished invitations here for sure.

3. have you seen the evolution of hip-hop dance? so so good.

4. i finished the fault in our stars by john green last weekend. it’s really good but maybe you should have some tissues by your hand. you have been warned. now i’m in need of some good book recommendations please.

5. are you into the winter olympics in sochi? i’m so not. haven’t seen one olympic discipline. i simply avoid the tv.

project life #3

this was february 1 – 13, 2014.

what happened? we ate at a mongolian barbecue with friends. a friend came home after 6 months abroad. i drove home for the weekend because i had to install all tech gadgets my sister got for her business. filou (or “the baby”, my cat at home) completely ignored me but came by for some treats. my sister dyed my hair – now they are mocha blond with a few blond highlights. family lunch at another monglian barbecue. my brother built our cocktail shelf and i finally got a photo of my dad with his new glasses (it’s a little bit blurry but i love it).

i mainly used the studio calico copper mountain project life kit. the meal stamp is from the kelly purkey foodie stamp set. the other half of the “what i love most about …” card i used as part of the background for my instax. therefore i used the kelly purkey chevron die on the remaining 3×4 card and then adjusted it.

1. probably i have to frame that quote – and maybe i need another illustration of it (via pinterest).

2. my sister will start a hair salon (in addition to her nail salon) in the next few weeks. i’m so proud of her. anyways, now she is stocking up all the really good an professional hair products from matrix and tigi. oh, i already see my money going there. at the moment i’m in love with the matrix biolage keratindose pro-keratin renewal spray. next on my shopping list: tigi bed head oh bee hive matte dry shampoo.

3. so many cocktails and mocktails to try, so less time for it.

4. finally organized my project life kits (seafoam, midnight, sunshine). i used a ikea antonius basket insert (2 €) and i love how it turned out. now i’m waiting for the amy tangerine plus one mini kit.

5. sometimes i regret my project life album decision for 2014. why i haven’t changed? a handbook looks so much cooler than 12×12. oh yeah, probably because i thought i would need more than one handbook or where should i use all my titlecards? anyways…

project life #2

this was january 19 – 31, 2014

what happened? we finally had some snow in linz – only for a few days and only one month too late. i enlarged the photo and used the kelly purkey “winter is here” stamp on it. k’s aunt had a 50s party and i took some instax photos for the guestbook. the problem with instax photos is that you have them only once. so i took a photo of the photo hence i have one for project life. the “xoxo”-flag is from the studio calico cuppa project life kit. the grey stripped journal card with the quote on it is from the studio calico copper mountain project life kit and the 4×6 journal card is from the sunshine edition.

we’re completely into breaking bad – so i had to include a picture of the seasons we already have (photo is processed with the waterlogue app). also i have found a few new cocktails therefore i included the recipe of my new favorite (called vanity). the ampersand card is from life-love-paper and was included in the studio calico blue note project life kit. the grid cards are from the sunshine edition. the “jan 2014” vellum sticker is also from life-love-paper and was part of the sc copper mountain kit.
